The
new THIEL SmartSub products are the most technologically

new Thiel CS3.7 is a 3-way, floor
standing speaker that utilizes all newly developed
drivers. A very high output 1-inch tweeter is coincidently
mounted in the center of a 5-inch midrange that incorporates
a new ribbed diaphragm geometry. "The
new midrange driver diaphragm technology allows unprecedented
purity and sweetness of midrange reproduction," says
designer, Jim Thiel. "The entire sonic spectrum is
completely uncolored by any resonances, ringing, or energy
storage from either the midrange or tweeter diaphragms."
The diaphragm geometry of the new 10-inch
woofer increases strength for wider bandwidth and reduces
weight for higher efficiency. The woofer's output is augmented
by an auxiliary bass radiator.

The
SW1 system: Brains, brawn, and beauty
The SW1 is the most advanced and versatile subwoofer

The woofer
unit is a stand-alone subwoofer for reproducing the "point
one" channel in a home theater system. It uses two very
high performance, high output 10-inch drivers powered by a high
efficiency, 1000 watt switching mode amplifier. The amplifier's
circuitry includes the aspects of SmartSub technology
that correct response problems caused by nearby walls and eliminates
compression distortion normally caused by high power to the
drivers.
