D-2 Speakers

Raidho knocked one out of the park with its amazing D2 speakers which were Lauded by music lovers and reviewers alike as being one of the best speakers at the New york Audio Show 2013  at any price! These moderately sized transducers have reset the bar for tranparency , harmonic accuracy ,speed ,dynamics ,detail and imaging.

John Atkinson had this to say:

The first room I visited at the NY Audio Show was one of the best-sounding. The third of three rooms displaying brands sold by Manhattan retailer Sound by Singer it featured the world premier of Danish Manufacturer Raidho's D2 loudspeaker ($43,500/pair in black, $48,000/pair in gold walnut). The D2 combines the ribbon tweeter used in Raidho's well-regarded D1 minimonitor with two 4.5" woofers that use a diamond-coated cones. Driven by a Soulution 5400 SACD player, a VAC Signature Mk.2 tube preamplifier and 450S tube power amplifier, with Nordost Tyr Mk.2 cables and two Audience Adept AR6 power conditioners, this pair of tower speakers threw a huge soundstage on Jennifer Warnes' "Joan of Arc," with exceptionally smooth and grainfree vocal reproduction. And no wonder given that the D2 uses two of  the same  diamond impregnated midrange woofers exalted by Jonathan Valin in his CES 2013 Report on the the D1 in a larger floor standing enclosure .The result is astonishing. The only thing better in larger rooms are the incomparable D3!

Breaking News

"JV'S CES 2013 SHOW REPORT: LOUDSPEAKERS $20K AND ABOVE
The $28.5k (including stands) Raidho D1 was one of the speakers I was most eager to hear at this year’s CES. A stand-mount two-way housed in exactly the same compact, angled, aluminum-fronted enclosure as its less expensive brother, the marvelous $17.5k C1.1, the D1 uses a diamond/carbonite-sandwich mid/woof instead of a ceramic-sandwich one. Putting aside the fact that a diamond membrane this size is an engineering/manufacturing first, the advantage of Raidho’s new driver is that (because of its greatly increased stiffness—diamond is 140 times harder than ceramic) the mid/woof’s first break-up mode is raised from 12.5kHz to 20kHz, making for an audibly smoother blend with Raidho’s fabulous quasi-ribbon tweeter. The diamond driver also goes deeper in the bass than the ceramic one—with considerably more oomph. I will go into more detail about the D1 when I get to my Best of Show winners, but suffice it to say that the new Raidho was my first Best Sound of Show nominee.

Best of Show
I thought about dividing this award among several very worthy contenders, but the truth is that one speaker sounded more like the absolute sound than any of the others—and not by a small margin. That speaker is the new Raidho D1. There has always been something simply magical about Raidho’s quasi-ribbon tweeter; now, with the addition of a diamond/carbonite mid/bass that can better keep pace with the ribbon, this mini-monitor is capable of even greater jaw-dropping realism.

 THE RAIDHO STORY

Raidho Acoustics develops and manufactures loudspeakers for people with a sense for aesthetics. Those who think sound should be fantastic, want their listening experience to be out of the ordinary and expect good-looking equipment with an exceptional design and cool visual expression.

The unique technology of Raidho Acoustics is an extension of the classic technologies that have been at the heart of HiFi loudspeakers for years. But Raidho Acoustics have turned away from the mainstream development of “synthetic sound” or simulated HiFi. We operate with the genuine article. Developments in genuine HiFi had come to a standstill a few years ago, until Michael Boerresen came up with some ideas for lifting HiFi sound to new levels

C 1.1 Speakers

Raidho C1.1 is a small, neatly perfectly proportioned loudspeaker, so in spite of its limited size, the sound it produces is surprising at first, but harmonious at the same time. This model was developed on the basis of recognised theories of dimension, which we put in practice to produce a beautiful cabinet, carried out in every detail, and superbly finished. C1.1 is put together from hand-made units built from Raidho’s patented technologies.

The two-piece baffle is made from 20mm aluminium with each driver assembled directly onto its rear face.

The C1.1 is a new breed of small loudspeakers that uncompromisingly let you hear what your system and the musicians can do.

Overview

Cutting Edge Diamond Technology

Raidho D-1 is the first ever built loudspeaker with Raidho Cutting Edge Diamond Technology.
Based on my hearing them at CES 2013 I can tell you that the Diamond technology raises the performance of a speaker which is almost impossible to fault in terms of realism to a level which is trully inconceivable..With The C-1.1 You think you are there with the D1.1 you are!
tHat is why Jonathan Valin awarded the D1.1 his coveted best of show award stating:

RAIDHO C 2.1

Raidho C2.1 has a seductive expression - for both eye and ear - so it is hard to resist being bewitched by the beautifully crafted speaker with such a fine sound - where everything has been thought of! How can one describe the outstandingly magnificent sound? One thing enthusiasts will notice is the impressive speed at which the units work, with sounds starting precisely and ending in an absolute absence of sound, with no sonic echoes or noise.

While the Raidho C2.1 was being developed, attention was centred on creating a sensitive but dynamic experience of sound,

C 3.1 Speakers

Overview

Just like the other models, we have made an effort to create just the right look for a cabinet containing so many units. Raidho has an unrivalled finish, with a solid feel when you give in to that irresistible urge to touch the exclusive veneer and millimetre-thick varnish. Technically, we have focused on arranging the units to give an optimal sound distribution, without strain, while the expression is clear, harmonious and powerful. Listening to a C3.0 you get the feeling of being at the centre of the musical experience. C3.0 simply picks up all the real sounds there are in the medium - loyally and in absolutely perfect balance.

Jonathin Valin said it best in the February 2012

issue of "THE ABSOLUTE SOUND":

" I started off by saying that greater “realism” on hi-fi is a matter of more and less. The Raidho C1.1gives you both—more detail and less electro-mechanical noise—to a truly astounding degree, andwithout any bleaching of tone color. The result, on select great recordings, such as the Bozay andthe Wuorinen, is a “realism” that not only raises goosebumps but that can actually extend beyondthe momentary to an entire cut. Trust me: I have heard few other speakers reproduce a violin likethe one in the unbelievably well-recorded Wuorinen piece with such unstinting, uninterruptedrealism as this Raidho. If you’re looking for a highest-fidelity two-way for a small-to-moderate room in a stylish package, Ican’t recommend the Raidho C1.1 highly enough. This is an honest-to-goodness greatloudspeaker. (BTW, the ... price includes the purpose-built and very handsome stands.)"
